Las Vegas Dispensary Marketing

Las Vegas Dispensary SEO When Nevada Law Keeps You 1,500 Feet From the Casinos

In Clark County, a licensed dispensary can't open within 1,500 feet of a business holding a nonrestricted gaming license. Delivery can't go to hotels, short-term rentals or anywhere with a gaming license, and the county also bars it along the Las Vegas Boulevard gaming corridor. A December 2025 UNLV report described the combined effect as a "total prohibition of licensed cannabis sales" on the Strip.

If your dispensary serves visitors staying on the Strip, I'd check whether they can find your actual location, opening hours and directions before making the trip. I help Las Vegas dispensaries, lounges and cannabis brands with that, and with reaching the locals who search near them. Our team is remote, with no Las Vegas office.

Pass along your website. I'll search for your dispensary from a few resort addresses and from your own block, check what the map shows in each place and email you my suggested changes, normally inside two business days.

Costs you nothing. Your details aren't shared, and no sales pitch follows.

How the Casino Setback and Delivery Limits Affect Your Dispensary

The setback comes from state law, and it applies in any Nevada county of 100,000 people or more, which takes in both Clark and Washoe. It's measured from your front door to the closest edge of the gaming property. Separate distance rules keep dispensaries 1,000 feet from schools and 300 feet from day cares, parks, playgrounds, pools, youth centers and places of worship.

UNLV's researchers worked out the trip from the big resorts to the nearest licensed dispensaries: 45 to 95 minutes there and back on foot, or 25 to 35 minutes and $30 to $40 by taxi or rideshare. They also said hard data on the tourist share of cannabis sales isn't available. Retailers they spoke with estimated visitors at 40% to 60% of their sales, which is a useful hint but not a measurement.

If visitors matter to your dispensary, I'd test searches from the resorts nearest you and note what comes up, how far each result is and whether your listing answers the practical questions: your hours, how close you are and whether there's parking or a rideshare drop-off. Photos of your actual entrance help a first-time visitor find the door.

City of Las Vegas or Clark County: Which Rules Cover You

Most of the Strip sits in unincorporated Clark County, not the City of Las Vegas. Which one licenses and zones your dispensary decides several things that show up in your marketing.

TopicCity of Las VegasUnincorporated Clark County
Local licenseCity business license plus state approval, with a special use permit; the license and origination fee is $75,000County license under Title 8, Chapter 65, plus zoning approval; a special use permit may be required

DeliveryResidential delivery allowed under the city codeBarred on the Las Vegas Boulevard gaming corridor and on any gaming licensee's premises
Consumption lounges1,000 feet between lounges (the council can waive it), 1,500 feet from businesses with 16 or more slot machines, outdoor consumption allowedPlans for security, DUI prevention and ventilation; no consumption visible from outside; no product leaving the lounge
HoursReported in 2017 to allow a 24-hour exceptionReported in 2017 to be moving toward a 24-hour option

From the City of Las Vegas cannabis establishment instruction sheet (revised March 9, 2021) and cannabis FAQs, Clark County's cannabis establishments page, the UNLV Cannabis Policy Institute's December 2025 report and news coverage of the 2017 hours changes and the lounge ordinances, read October 28, 2026. We haven't confirmed current 2026 hours rules for either the city or the county.

Because the city reviews your marketing and signage plans when you apply, I'd keep a copy beside any new campaign and check the two still line up. In the county, the delivery limits mean customers should see exactly which neighborhoods you can serve, with nothing that suggests a hotel drop-off.

Chains With Several Southern Nevada Dispensaries

The Cannabis Compliance Board's list of retailers, dated October 2, 2026, shows 78 adult-use retail locations and 3 consumption lounges in Southern Nevada. That region also includes Pahrump and Mesquite, so it's wider than Las Vegas. By our count of the list, one operator has 8 Southern Nevada addresses, three have 5 each and three more have 4 each.

If you operate one dispensary, I'd put your Google listing side by side with the chain locations nearby. I'd start with accurate hours, current storefront photos, customer reviews and a menu people can use on their phones. If you run several, every location should have a separate listing and its own numbers, so a busy one near the Strip doesn't hide a quiet one in Henderson.

Hemp Shops That Look Like Dispensaries

SFGate reported in 2024 that hemp-only shops near the Strip were being mistaken for licensed dispensaries. Since June 2023, the City of Las Vegas has required hemp shops to post signs saying they aren't licensed to sell cannabis, and Clark County says it inspects hemp shops and takes complaints. The Cannabis Compliance Board ran its "Don't gamble on safety. Buy legal cannabis." billboards on the Strip, along the interstates and at the airport through June 30, 2026.

For a licensed dispensary, that's a reason to make your status easy to confirm. Put your license number where shoppers can see it on your site, choose Google listing categories that match what you are, and use photos of your real storefront and sales floor. A visitor who isn't sure whether a shop is legitimate should be able to settle the question in a few seconds on your listing.

Consumption Lounges in Las Vegas

The Nevada Independent reported that Society Elevated opened on April 16, 2026, the first new state-licensed lounge in two years. Dazed! at Planet 13 is the other operating one, and Smoke and Mirrors closed in 2025, though the Board's list still shows three. The Las Vegas Paiute Tribe's NuWu Cannabis Marketplace and Sky High lounge operate under tribal rules, outside the state's licensing and sales figures.

If you run a lounge alongside a dispensary, keep its hours, age requirement and house rules clearly separate on your site from your dispensary's wherever the two differ. And because lounge products can't leave the lounge, say so plainly before a guest arrives.

Advertising Rules on Top of the Location Limits

Every cannabis ad in Nevada has to carry the two state warnings plus your license number, and ads can't run anywhere under-21s could reasonably make up 30% of viewers or more. Our Nevada page covers the state rules in full, including the 2025 changes and the airport and stadium questions. One thing to watch: the Board has a revision to its advertising definitions in the Legislative Commission's review queue. I haven't confirmed whether it's been approved, so check its status before you change an ad. This is marketing guidance from ColaDigital; legal calls belong with your lawyer.

What Our Dispensary Work Has Produced Elsewhere

I don't have a published Las Vegas case study to share. The numbers are from dispensaries we've worked with in Dallas and Ontario, each with dates, and they can't tell you what your location will do.

The Dallas result is the closest to a single Las Vegas dispensary trying to win the map near its address. For a group, the Ontario chain is the better comparison, since every one of its five dispensaries was tracked against its own neighbors.

Check What Visitors and Locals See When They Search

Add your website here. I'll run searches from the resorts nearest you and from the neighborhoods around your dispensary, check your listing and menu from a phone, then send back my top three fixes.

  • Where you appear from nearby resorts
  • Your license number and storefront photos
  • Hours, delivery and lounge details

Vee handles Las Vegas requests himself and usually writes back in two business days.

Accurate Answers When Visitors Ask AI Tools

AI assistants may draw on your website, business listings and other published information when answering questions about a dispensary. When those disagree about your address, hours or delivery rules, the answer can point someone to the wrong door or the wrong time. I'll check whether your website clearly explains your licensed status, address, hours and services, then correct the information we control and request changes where another platform manages the listing. No one can guarantee an AI tool will name your dispensary, but accurate inputs are within reach.

FAQs From Las Vegas Dispensary Owners

Why Can't My Dispensary Deliver to Strip Hotels?

State rules limit delivery to private residences and exclude hotels, short-term rentals and gaming-licensed locations. Clark County also bars delivery on the Las Vegas Boulevard gaming corridor.

Can a Dispensary Open on the Las Vegas Strip?

Not within 1,500 feet of a nonrestricted gaming licensee, which rules out the resort corridor. A handful of dispensaries do have a Las Vegas Boulevard address outside the setback.

Are Las Vegas Dispensaries Open 24 Hours?

Some have been. In 2017 the city allowed a 24-hour exception and the county moved toward a 24-hour option, while North Las Vegas allowed round-the-clock sales. I haven't confirmed the 2026 rules, so check with your licensing authority.

Does the City of Las Vegas Review My Marketing Plan?

Yes, at application. The city asks for a marketing and advertising plan and a signage plan, so keep your campaigns consistent with what you filed.

How Do I Show Shoppers My Dispensary Is Licensed?

Show your license number on your site, use accurate Google listing categories and post photos of your real storefront. The city already makes hemp shops post signs saying they aren't licensed to sell cannabis.

Should Each of My Las Vegas Dispensaries Have Its Own Google Listing?

Yes. Every address needs its own listing, hours and reviews, and its own numbers in our reports.

How Much Is Dispensary SEO in Las Vegas?

Fees open at $2,000 monthly (USD) and can top $10,000 for groups with lounges or paid campaigns. Ad platforms charge for spend separately, and 30 days' notice brings the work to an end.
