Dispensary SEO services
Dispensary SEO Services for Google Maps, Location Pages and Local Search
ColaDigital is a dispensary SEO agency for licensed dispensaries, delivery services and multi-location groups across the USA and Canada. We work on the things that decide which pot shop a nearby shopper picks:
- your Google Business Profile, the listing people see on Maps
- your spot among the three dispensaries Google shows on the map
- your location pages and reviews
- a menu Google can actually read
Vee Popat runs every account himself. He's done SEO since 2004 and has worked with dispensaries since 2017.
For one location, dispensary SEO starts at $2,000 USD a month, and Canadian dispensaries get their quote in CAD. Every engagement begins with an audit, and the price comes to you in writing. Our pricing page lists every service.

What Dispensary SEO Does
Dispensary SEO helps nearby shoppers find your dispensary when they search Google for weed, a product or delivery. That means competing for the three spots on the map (the Map Pack) and the regular results below it. At ColaDigital it starts at $2,000 a month (USD) for one location. That covers your Google Business Profile, listings, reviews, location pages, menu visibility and tracking for each location.

What Our 2026 Dispensary Search Study Found
In October 2026 we pulled the top 10 Google results for "dispensary [city]" across 35 U.S. cities and lined them up against the same searches from October 2024. If you own a dispensary, four findings matter most:
- 21 of 35
Independents usually win the top spot. A locally owned dispensary was No. 1 in 21 of the 35 cities. Chains that operate in several states led in 12
- 33 of 35
Your own website can beat Weedmaps. In 33 of the 35 cities, the first result was a dispensary's own site, not a listing site
- 167 of 322
Page one isn't locked. Of the 322 spots we could compare, 167 had dropped off page one by 2026. Weedmaps held first place in six cities in 2024 and kept none of them
- 2 of 39
AI answers depend on the question. An AI Overview appeared on just 2 of 39 "dispensary [city]" searches, yet it showed up in all 39 cities when we searched "can you get weed delivered in [city]"
The top spot isn't reserved for the big chains or Weedmaps. The study doesn't tell us why Google put independents there, but it shows smaller operators can compete.
The full method, city-by-city results and raw data are in our study, Who Owns Dispensary Search?. You're welcome to use these findings. If you're referencing this summary, please credit ColaDigital and link to this Dispensary SEO page. For the underlying data, cite the original study.
What Dispensary SEO Includes Each Month
Google Business Profile management for every location: categories, hours, holiday hours, photos and updates kept current
Listings: your dispensary's name, address, phone and hours matching across directories, menu sites and map apps
Reviews: review management for each location, since reviews are part of how Google picks which dispensaries to show
Location pages: one useful page per location, covering directions, parking, pickup, delivery area and the questions shoppers ask before they visit
Menu and category pages: making sure Google can read your categories and products, even when the menu is embedded
Delivery and pickup searches: pages and listings for "delivery near me" and same-day searches, if you deliver
Local links: mentions from local sites, events and cannabis publications in your area
Tracking for each location: where it shows on the map across its neighborhood, plus calls, direction requests and menu clicks where your analytics allow
Monthly reporting, one call a month with Vee, and email whenever you need him
More locations, more markets or a weaker starting point raise the monthly fee. Your written quote spells out the work for each location before we begin.
One Dispensary, Several Locations or Online Ordering: Where We Start
The first month looks different depending on how you sell.
One Dispensary
For a single dispensary, the Map Pack is usually where the money is. We start with your Google Business Profile, the page it points to and your reviews, because those three decide most "dispensary near me" results. If your profile sends people to your homepage instead of a location page, that's often the first fix.
Several Locations
Each location has to rank in its own neighborhood without pulling against the others. Every location gets its own profile work, its own page and its own tracking. We write each location page from scratch, so your fifth location doesn't read like your first with the city swapped. The Ontario group in our case study had five dispensaries in five cities, and search clicks went up at every one of them.
Delivery and Online Ordering
Delivery shoppers ask two things first: does this weed store deliver to my address, and how fast? If you deliver or sell online, we look at your delivery-area pages and at how your menu shows up in Google. An embedded menu can hide every product from search without anyone noticing.
How Long Dispensary SEO Takes
Each step is a real client from our published case studies.
- Around 60 daysDispensary with its own web shopOnline revenue up 96%
- Around 90 daysDelivery dispensary, competitive Canadian cityReached #3 on the map and #3 in the regular results for its main delivery search
- Around six monthsOntario group with five locationsClicks up at every location, including +22.7% in Hamilton and +33.8% in St. Catharines
In my experience, your spot on the map moves before your website climbs, since profile fixes show up in Google quickly. Location pages and local links take longer to earn their place.
Visibility review
What I Look at in a Visibility Review
I start by searching the way your customers do, from a few spots around each location. A dispensary can be #1 at its front door and invisible two miles away. Then I work through a short list:
- The Google Business Profile category each location uses, and whether it matches the dispensaries beating you
- Where each profile links: a real location page, or your homepage
- Whether your hours, phone numbers and addresses match across Google, your site, Weedmaps, Leafly and your menu provider
- How recent your reviews are, and whether anyone's replying
- Whether Google can see your menu categories, or only an empty frame where the menu loads
- Which competitor owns the searches you want, and what they have that you don't
You get a short written list of fixes in order. Sometimes the honest answer is that one location's profile has to be fixed first, and I'll say so.
Who Dispensary SEO Is For
- Licensed dispensaries that want more nearby shoppers walking in or ordering pickup
- Delivery services that need to show up when someone wants weed brought to the door
- Multi-location groups that need every location to rank in its own area
- Medical dispensaries, plus adult-use dispensaries that also serve cardholders
- New licensees who want their listings and location pages ready before opening day
Selling online across a state or the whole country, or running a brand? Cannabis SEO is the better fit.

SEO add-on
Keep Your Dispensary's Social Accounts as Current as Its Google Listing
Holiday hours, new brands on the shelf, pickup changes: the updates we make to your location pages and Google Business Profile belong on Instagram and Facebook too. Our social media management for dispensaries plans and schedules those posts each month, without prices or purchase links, so they stay within Meta's rules. Packages start at $950 a month (USD; dispensaries in Canada get a CAD quote). See all our prices.
Dispensary SEO Within Cannabis Advertising Rules
In the US, Google and Meta don't accept ads that sell THC products, which is why Google Maps and the regular search results carry so much weight for dispensaries. SEO has rules too:
- Location pages and profiles can't make health claims
- Your website may need an age screen
- Some states limit what you can say about deals
We write within your state's or province's rules and flag anything your lawyer should see. Our state-by-state ad rules summary shows what each market allows. For every US state and DC in one place, see our dispensary marketing laws by state.
When Shoppers Ask AI for a Dispensary Nearby
More shoppers ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews or their phone's assistant for things like a dispensary that's open late or one that delivers. Those answers lean on the facts your Google profile and location pages publish, plus what menu sites and directories say about you.
When those sources disagree on your hours or services, you're less likely to be named. I can't promise any AI tool will pick your dispensary, but I can make sure the facts it reads are right and consistent. Then we check each month whether your locations come up for the questions shoppers ask in your area.

Dispensary SEO FAQs
What does dispensary SEO cost?
At one location, ColaDigital charges from $2,000 USD a month for dispensary SEO. More locations or markets raise the fee, and Canadian dispensaries are quoted in CAD. You'll get a written quote after I've looked at your Google listings and site.
Does my dispensary need SEO if we're already on Weedmaps and Leafly?
Those listings help, but they send shoppers to a marketplace page where your competitors sit one tap away. Your own Google profile and location pages bring people straight to you, and that traffic is yours rather than rented from a marketplace.
Can you get my dispensary to #1 on Google Maps?
Nobody can honestly promise that. Google weighs the searcher's distance from each location, so even the strongest profile ranks best near its own door. What we can do is make your pot shop the best answer in its area and widen that area over time.
How long before dispensary SEO shows results?
Profile and listing fixes usually show first. Your own pages and links from local sites take longer, often a few months. How fast it goes depends mostly on how strong the dispensaries closest to you already are.
Can you handle SEO for several dispensary locations?
Yes. We treat every location as its own dispensary in Google, with its own listing, page and numbers. We also check that your location pages aren't fighting each other for the same searches, which happens a lot when locations sit in neighboring towns.
Our menu runs on Dutchie or Jane. Can those products show up in Google?
Often only partly. Many embedded menus load in a way Google can't fully read, so categories and products stay hidden. We check what Google can see, then explain the options, from category pages built on your site to a different menu setup.
Do you work with medical dispensaries?
Yes. Patients often check whether a dispensary serves cardholders, what it stocks and when it's open, and medical-only states have their own rules on what dispensaries can say. We keep location pages and profiles free of health claims.
Should we hire you for dispensary SEO or cannabis SEO?
If most of your sales come from people near your dispensaries, choose dispensary SEO. If you sell online across a state or the country, or you're a brand, cannabis SEO fits better. Some retailers need both, and the audit will tell you which comes first.
Can Canadian dispensaries hire you?
Yes. All six case studies on this page come from Canadian dispensaries, including a five-location group in Ontario, and Canadian owners get their price in CAD. Provincial rules on what a dispensary can say online are part of the audit, just like state rules in the US. For province-by-province detail, see our Canada page.
